The Journey

Designed and hosted by Dina Holland for a like-minded group of women, this ten-day expedition moves from Istanbul's legendary bazaars to Cappadocia's fairy chimneys, the ancient ruins of Ephesus, and a traditional hammam in the city that has always bridged East and West. Every experience is curated to connect, inspire, and empower — including visits with the Turkish women artisans and entrepreneurs who bring each place to life.

Itinerary

Day by Day

A high-level rhythm for the journey. Final timings and activities are confirmed on your booking.

  1. Day 1

    Arrive in Istanbul

    Welcome meeting, a visit to the KEDV women's social enterprise, the Grand Bazaar, and a Historic Peninsula walk before the welcome dinner.

  2. Day 2

    Istanbul

    Topkapi Palace and the Harem with the history of the Sultanate of Women, a home visit for borek and coffee fortune-telling, and the Spice Bazaar.

  3. Day 3

    Cappadocia

    Fly to Kayseri and drive to Göreme for the UNESCO-listed Open Air Museum, then a home-cooked dinner in Avanos.

  4. Day 4

    Cappadocia

    Optional hot air balloon at dawn, a soft hike through the Soğanlı Valley, and kitre doll-making with local women artisans.

  5. Day 5

    Konya

    Drive to Konya for a felt-making atelier visit, with a free afternoon and an optional visit to the Mausoleum of Rumi.

  6. Day 6

    Pamukkale

    Drive to Pamukkale for the Hierapolis ancient city and the iconic white travertine terraces of the Cotton Castle.

  7. Day 7

    Selçuk

    The ancient ruins of Ephesus, wine tasting in Şirince village, and dinner with Hatice — a local chef and entrepreneur.

  8. Day 8

    Ayvalık

    Drive to Ayvalık to visit the Cop Madam women's upcycling project, stroll the Ottoman town, and share an included lunch.

  9. Day 9

    Return to Istanbul

    A women's-only traditional hammam dating to 1584, then a private Bosphorus cruise with drinks.

  10. Day 10

    Farewell

    Farewell breakfast, then free to depart at leisure.
